Worthless Tokens: How to Check Before You Ignore or Remove Them

How to distinguish genuinely low-value tokens from suspicious or unsolicited wallet assets.

Worthless Does Not Mean Dangerous

Some tokens have little or no practical liquidity, while others are unsolicited spam tokens designed to attract attention. Do not interact with an unfamiliar token merely because it appears valuable in a wallet interface.

What to Check

  • Confirm the wallet address and network.
  • Verify the exact token contract instead of relying on ticker or logo.
  • Compare the balance with gas, swap, bridge and liquidity costs.
  • Do not sign transactions you do not understand.
  • Never share a seed phrase or private key with a scanner or cleanup tool.
The goal of wallet cleanup is informed decision-making, not moving every tiny balance.
