Aptos and Avalanche have separate network contexts. A cross-chain route must account for the source environment, destination environment and the mechanism used to transfer or represent the asset.

Aptos: Aptos uses the Move ecosystem and has asset conventions that differ from EVM networks.
Avalanche: Avalanche supports an EVM-compatible environment alongside its broader network ecosystem.
On the source side, Verify the network-specific asset representation and account details. On the destination side, Verify the asset representation and contract on the selected Avalanche network.

Before You Bridge
- Source: confirm the asset is actually held on Aptos.
- Destination: confirm the wallet and destination network.
- Token: verify the exact asset representation rather than relying on ticker or logo.
- Costs: compare gas, bridge fees, liquidity, price impact and the final received amount.
- Security: Confirm the destination and transaction effects before signing. At the destination, Confirm the network and contract before interacting with unfamiliar assets.
