ArbitrumOptimism

Network-specific checks before a cross-chain transaction.

Arbitrum and Optimism have separate network contexts. A cross-chain route must account for the source environment, destination environment and the mechanism used to transfer or represent the asset.

Route Intelligence

Source network

Arbitrum: Arbitrum is an Ethereum Layer 2 environment with its own balances and application ecosystem.

Destination network

Optimism: Optimism is an Ethereum Layer 2 environment with its own transaction and asset context.

Asset considerations

On the source side, Confirm the Arbitrum token contract rather than assuming an identical ticker represents the same asset everywhere. On the destination side, Verify the Optimism contract address for the asset you intend to move.

Fee considerations

Compare L2 transaction costs with any bridge or liquidity costs required to reach the destination. On Optimism, Compare network gas with bridge and route costs, especially for low-value balances.

Before You Bridge

  • Source: confirm the asset is actually held on Arbitrum.
  • Destination: confirm the wallet and destination network.
  • Token: verify the exact asset representation rather than relying on ticker or logo.
  • Costs: compare gas, bridge fees, liquidity, price impact and the final received amount.
  • Security: Verify the network, contract and destination before signing cross-chain transactions. At the destination, Check network, recipient, contract and transaction details before signing.
Never use a seed phrase or private key to complete a bridge. A legitimate bridge flow should not require either.

Use the Live Bridge Tool

When a live route is available, open Dust Sweeper and review the current quote immediately before signing. Route availability, liquidity and network conditions can change.
