Metis → Base
Network-specific checks before a cross-chain transaction.
Metis and Base have separate network contexts. A cross-chain route must account for the source environment, destination environment and the mechanism used to transfer or represent the asset.
Route Intelligence
Metis: Metis is an Ethereum scaling environment with its own network and token representations.
Base: Base is an Ethereum Layer 2 environment with its own network balances, applications and token representations.
On the source side, Verify the token contract on Metis. On the destination side, Verify the token contract on Base and do not rely on ticker or logo alone.
Compare L2 gas with bridge and liquidity costs. On Base, Consider Base transaction costs together with bridge and route costs when moving small balances.
Before You Bridge
- Source: confirm the asset is actually held on Metis.
- Destination: confirm the wallet and destination network.
- Token: verify the exact asset representation rather than relying on ticker or logo.
- Costs: compare gas, bridge fees, liquidity, price impact and the final received amount.
- Security: Confirm network and transaction details before signing. At the destination, Use trusted interfaces and verify destination network and token before signing.
Use the Live Bridge Tool
When a live route is available, open Dust Sweeper and review the current quote immediately before signing. Route availability, liquidity and network conditions can change.
