OptimismBNB Smart Chain

Network-specific checks before a cross-chain transaction.

Optimism and BNB Smart Chain have separate network contexts. A cross-chain route must account for the source environment, destination environment and the mechanism used to transfer or represent the asset.

Route Intelligence

Source network

Optimism: Optimism is an Ethereum Layer 2 environment with its own transaction and asset context.

Destination network

BNB Smart Chain: BNB Smart Chain is an EVM-compatible network with its own BEP-20 token representations.

Asset considerations

On the source side, Verify the Optimism contract address for the asset you intend to move. On the destination side, Verify BEP-20 contracts and distinguish legitimate assets from unsolicited tokens.

Fee considerations

Compare network gas with bridge and route costs, especially for low-value balances. On BNB Smart Chain, Network transaction costs are only one part of the route; compare the complete cost before moving small balances.

Before You Bridge

  • Source: confirm the asset is actually held on Optimism.
  • Destination: confirm the wallet and destination network.
  • Token: verify the exact asset representation rather than relying on ticker or logo.
  • Costs: compare gas, bridge fees, liquidity, price impact and the final received amount.
  • Security: Check network, recipient, contract and transaction details before signing. At the destination, Treat unexpected tokens and unfamiliar approvals cautiously and verify contracts before interacting.
Never use a seed phrase or private key to complete a bridge. A legitimate bridge flow should not require either.

Use the Live Bridge Tool

When a live route is available, open Dust Sweeper and review the current quote immediately before signing. Route availability, liquidity and network conditions can change.
